Public Policy Education
Service Description
Public policy education in Brooklyn, offered by BRITE LEADERSHIP COLLABORATION ENY, opens doors for residents to become active voices in their neighborhoods. Through civic engagement workshops in Brooklyn, participants finally see how decisions are made both locally and nationally, and just as importantly, how to make their own mark in that process. Each educational gathering breaks down complex topics into clear, relatable stories, giving everyday people pathways to policy process for residents in Brooklyn. Community leaders, parents, and teens alike learn together, often seeing for the first time how local government education can shift daily life. Participants ask tough questions, explore examples from their own blocks, and walk away with practical skills to empower community through policy in Brooklyn. Many residents gain the confidence to speak at town halls or join advocacy efforts - a transformation rooted in the patient, persistent guidance of long-time organizers. Over time, more East New Yorkers find themselves shaping the rules and resources that define their futures, proving that knowledge truly is power in community hands.
